 CASE STUDY

        Course 2

Context: The Company, a small home renovation business, has a culture centered on respect, professionalism, integrity, trust, and commitment to perfection. To company’s vision is to deliver the highest-quality home products and remodeling services, while adhering to professional best practices rooted in quality, sustainability, and safety. The organization aims to treat each client’s home and project with the same level of care and consideration that would extend to caring for a personal home.

Challenges: The company has been successfully operating for over a decade, yet there is a need to formalize and clarify internal procedures, as the business transitions into its next stage of growth.

Solutions: I conducted a through Needs Analysis, in the form of observation, informational interviews, and extant data. In collaboration with company stake holders, we designed an Employee Handbook document, and an Employee Workbook interactive e-Learning course.

Results: The e-Learning course and Handbook serve the purpose to familiarize employees with the policies, rules and other key aspects of The Company. These assets are part of a comprehensive effort by The Company to grow and restructure the business by a projected 200% over the next 5 years. Some of the other efforts undertaken by The Company, in addition to this training, include: new management staff, uniforms, clarification of roles, and new technology. As part of the company's efforts, the training provides all employees with a clear, shared understanding of expectations.
